Teaching Philosophy

Within the study of art education, I strive to allow students to expand their knowledge and achieve. I desire to create a welcoming space for students to feel comfortable exploring their curiosity and presenting their ideas. Growing from their previous mistakes to help them develop their skills physically, emotionally, and mentally. I want the students to gain more confidence and better understand themselves when working with art.

My role as an educator is to provide the knowledge and tools required to assist each student in their development. I develop and execute lesson plans for students to use as a guide while making sure the classroom space is filled with resources and tools for them to use at their disposal. I choose to let the student take the reins on where their students should have the chance to engage and question what's around them, asking critical questions and formulating conversations with their peers without fear of judgment. I want to be able to properly facilitate scenarios where they can use their imagination and skills in a way that enhances the right side of the mind.

I honestly feel blessed to be able to teach and pursue this path despite the lack of experience in my field, to properly reach a suitable job leading to more experience and an abundance of love for the arts.

Technology is an essential asset to the student's development. It is a tool that can enhance their computer literacy skills and help them pursue knowledge in potential fields of interest. Even though there is easy access to personal information, they can avoid cyber threats in the future while taking care to have fun. Going on a virtual adventure, they discover for themselves while learning of knowledge about their interests and educational resources they can search for repeatedly in the future. In the art space, the technology they have access to is a great reference to learn about other artists and an image search that helps invigorate their imagination and creativity.
